I was born in Nyon (Switzerland) in 1995 to a Spanish father and an Indian mother. When I was 6 years old, my family and I moved to Galicia, northwest of Spain, where my father was from originally. I grew up in Vigo, a coastal, industrial and fishing town.

I started taking piano lessons when I was 7, encouraged by my mother. No one in my family played music, but my neighbors and friends did. We used to meet on the street and learn pop and rock songs on guitar.

I also studied classical music at the Conservatory as a teenager. There, I met many friends who were starting to improvise and play jazz, so I also got into it. I went to their concerts, took lessons with musicians I liked, and played my own first concerts. I met a lot of people who knew a lot about music and was constantly inspired by them.

At age 23, I moved to Basel to study a Bachelor and a Master in Jazz Piano and Composition at the Jazzcampus.  I had lessons with musicians such as Brad Mehldau, Guillermo Klein, William Evans, Lionel Loueke, Aydin Esen, Jorge Rossy, Mark Turner, Larry Grenadier, David Virelles, and many more. I was also playing and sharing a lot of music with my piers.

I recorded my first album as a leader, ‘Smoke Gets In Your Eyes’, in Basel, with Joan Codina on double bass and Genius Wesley on drums. This album was released in February this year, on Fresh Sound New Talent. As a sideman, I participated, as a guest on three tunes, in ‘Somewhere’ (also on Fresh Sound), by Marçal Perramon, Camil Arcarazo, Giuseppe Campisi and Jorge Rossy.

In the last year, I have also been involved in other exciting proyects, recording and playing live in Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and The Netherlands. Some of these will be released as albums this year, such as Eixo do Jazz Ensemble meets Zé Pedro Coelho or my work with art-pop band Lontras.
